New 2017 Kia Sorento at Monroeville Kia for Monroeville, PA

The Kia Sorento has emerged as a  full-fledged midsize crossover, and holds its own when it comes to luxury and performance standards in this segment.  New for Kia's best-selling CUV in the 2017 model year are Android1 Auto and Apple2 CarPlay availability, and two new optional packages - the Advanced Touring Package and the Advanced Technology Package.  The 2017 Kia Sorento also adds new driver assistance features, including Autonomous Emergency Braking and Dynamic Bending Lights. The SX Limited is no longer offered with the 2.0T engine. The Sorento is  five- and seven-passenger configurations and there are five trim levels: L, LX, EX, SX and SX Limited.

Under the Sorento's Hood

The Sorento L and LX models are powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The EX 2.0T comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, bumping up the power to 240 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The SX and SX Limited get their power from a 3.3-liter V6 that pumps out 290 hp and 252 lb-ft. This engine is optional on LX and EX.  All Sorento models use a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard and all-wheel drive is optional on all except the base L trim. Towing capacity is 3,500 pounds if you have front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive will give you a tow rating of 5,000 pounds. The 2017 Sorento comes with Driver Mode Select. The gives drivers three modes (Normal, Sport and Eco) to choose from that alter transmission shift points and steering effort.

Design of Kia Sorento

Seating capacity for the 2017 Sorento depends on the trim level you go with. The L, SX Limited and the EX 2.0T are five-passenger only. The EX V6 and the SX are seven-passenger only.  The Kia Sorento cabin features soft touch and richly textured surfaces. Two-tone color schemes give the materials a nice look. Legroom for second row passengers is generous. There are a variety of configurations to suit your needs in terms of passenger/cargo space.  The second row seats slide, recline and fold flat with levers in the cargo area. The base model comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, stain-resistant fabric upholstery, and 40/20/40 split-second-row seats. The Sorento LX will give you a sound-reducing windshield, roof rails, a rearview camera, and a 4.3-inch touchscreen interface. The EX model comes with the LX's Convenience package (minus the blind-spot monitor), 18-inch wheels, keyless ignition and entry, second-row manual side sunshades, and more. The SX bumps up another level and you will get most of the Premium and Advanced Touring package equipment as well as 19-inch wheels, LED running lights and taillights,  a 10-way power driver seat, driver memory settings, an 8-inch touchscreen interface with a navigation system and a 10-speaker Infinity sound system with Clari-Fi digital music improvement technology.  The SX Limited offers the full list of the SX's Advanced Technology package plus chrome-clad 19-inch wheels, LED foglights, upgraded leather upholstery, a leather-and-wood-trimmed steering wheel and heated second-row outboard seats.
